Hey guys, I was wondering if my 2006 acura rsx type s can handle the power demands of the rockford fosgate 5 channel amp? Will the cars stock electrical be able to handle this. The amplifier is fused at 250 amps although I don't think it will ever possibly drain that much juice. Thanks so much

It is hard to do the big 3 on this car but I am deff upgrading batt ground to chassis. I was wondering if you thought the car could handle this completely stock with the upgraded ground. This is a leased car and I was hoping to get away without upgrading the alternator to the batt wire. The car has a stock 110 amp alternator.

it would work, but don't expect spectacular results. expect some significant dimming. the alt to battery wire is probably going to be your weakest link, because they're usually 8awg. the beauty of the big 3 is that since it's just wire, you canr remove it easily when you trade in.

I know you are deff right. The prob with the alt to bat wire on this car is that its a real ***** to get to the location on the alt. I read about that on club rsx. Do you think a 40 farad cap would help the dimming or possibly get rid of all of it? Thanks so much JMANPC

I just would steer clear of a cap altogether, and just go straight for the second battery. It may not completely rid you of dimming, but it ought to give your amp the power it needs.

Jman everything you are telling me is deff true. Do I have to isolate that kinetic from the first battery? I think I do and I don't want to do that. I don't know how to do that anyways. The cap just seems easier and I could get a sick deal on a 40. I know you are not alone in your criticism of the caps but I might get stuck with one.

I know a guy who runs a 50 farad capacitor and loves it like it's his son. It might be worth a try. A second battery wouldn't be hard, just run power to it, and ground it in the back.

I hear you. You really have been helpful. I think you really are supposed to isolate two batteries cause they can get destroyed internally if you don't. I just hope this car can handle it.
