Active subwoofer

Need advice
I have a Hyundai i10 hatch

Currently running the stock Audio system which gives a decent sound quality however...
I would like to change the current speakers and add an active subwoofer / underseat subwoofer in the car.

Is it possible to connect the subwoofer in the trunk of the car or under the seat ?
If I do install In the trunk, would the trunk act a subwoofer box and perhaps enhance the bass ?

The active sub will definitely sound good in the back. The car's shell does act as a box and amplifies the bass to a degree as long as it is not a sealed trunk like in a sedan/coupe.
