Active subwoofer ????

Good Day Everyone !! I'm Dimas and I need some help, I just found an "active subwoofer" in a junkyard, it was installed (looks from the factory) in a suzuki vitara. Can someone tell me what really is, what are the pro's and con's of it, does it compare to a subwoofer?

It was junk. It'll be the most mediocre "subwoofer" you could ever find. Probably inferior to most quality door speakers.

And I could only venture that "active" is another word for IB, if it's installed in the rear deck.

I already answered the question in the same exact thread he just made

Scion tC had an active sub option, was a Bazooka 10" in a fiberglass ported box with a built-in amp. It was ok.

The amp is small, powered from 12awg harness at the HU, but efficient.

Thanks to all !!! This "active subwoofer" looks like a small amplifier and doesn't have anything else but the speakers connected to it, I'll take a picture so you can see how it looks
