About to deaden my doors. Questions...

I bought a roll of raamat BXT and I was looking at the how to go guide here: http://www.raamaudio.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi?p=ht

I noticed that they say you should cover up the access holes. My question is do most people actually do this? I mean what happens if you need to replace a window motor or something? You just tear into all the deadner you just put down?

that will probaly make one of the biigest differences to cover up

and yes.. if something goes wrong... you gotta take it off

just do it, people are going to say different things about it, but you should cover up the huge holes.

I wouldnt pull it off if you needed to get into the door

I would just cut it open & redo it after,

yes deaden the holes. If you can get it all sealed up, you may see a drastic improvement in your midbass output. I sure did.

If you can, try to find some thinner lexan and use sheet metal screws to attach it over any larger holes, then deaden over it. For smaller holes, i just pulled the deadener nice and tight over it.

lol never changed a window itself, I'm more worried about the motor or something for the power windows going out. That sort of thing.

Just cover up all the holes it will help quite a bit with the sound. If you do have to cut it off it will only be a section and you could use scraps to cover it back up.
