About 800w RMS at almost any ohm

13Ov.2 Elemental Designs subwoofer comes in dual 2 and dual 4 ohm voice coils. Looking for about 800 watts rms. Sorry for starting a second thread. eD technicians say it can handle up to 1000 watts rms, but going off of thier chart, 800 looks like it'd be plenty of power while keeping it on the safe side.

I've been looking at the MA Audio amplifers. What's the difference between the

If you go with a single sub with dual 4 ohm I'd go with the JL e-series. It will give you the exact power you are looking for at a very reasonable price. Less than 50 cents a watt.

That's a little expensive for me. I was originally going to purchase the combo deal at eD's site where you get a 13O and their nine.1 amp (900w @ 2ohm, 1200w @ 1ohm) for $465. Considering the sub alone is 195, that leaves $270 being the cost of the amp. I have seen 800w amps for cheaper than 270, so I am wondering if they would be a better move for the money, or should I just spring for the eD amp?

ed amp IMO. those things i have heard been benched at 1500w @ 14.4v... but dont quote me, ive not done research. go get on google and look at reviews of them. but they are sexy pieces arent they?

and 270 for an amp of that quality is a bargin. check around for the customer service tho - im not sure about their 'company polocies' in light of previous threads and flame wars.

who gives a ****!!! 800 rms is too much power for bass anyway, stick with up to 500 rms, it's enough bass period!! stupid ****in people! i don't get u people having like 800 rms to 2000 rms systems, **** man! that is just too much ****in bass!

I haven't heard many systems, I just didn't want to be disappointed with the output of my eD. I've listened to my buddy's two infinity reference 12s running off 800w and I didn't think it was too loud.

And who's to talk about "too much bass" when your sn includes "iluvbass"???

Depending on the setup 1000 watts is not too much. There are plenty of setups out there that are 250watts that are louder than 1000watts. It is all in the install, box size and type, woofer, box tuning, car size.

1000 watts to a 10 inch RE SX in a small sealed box is not very loud in a cargo van.

Put that same sub in a large ported box tuned to 40hz in the back of a Honda CRX with a 250watts and it will get loud. It is all subjective.

Well anyway, I picked up that Scosche wiring kit today from wal-mart and it suggests running up to 700w rms through it (1400w peak). So I figure 600-800 will work. And suggestions on a decent amp that won't cost over $270 (price of eD amp)? Thanks.
