A weird amp problem...

I hooked up my brand new Hifonics TXi4006 to my brother's truck to power a set of CDT that I used to have that I gave to him, and it'd start up, and then quick shut down.

This would happen right when we turned the car on. It'd just flash on, then off. So, I got frustrated and hit the amp a bit (not hard at all, more like a tap) and it turned on, and powered the speakers. Then turned the truck off, and back on, and it turned on and off again. It'd turn on if you pushed on the top of it.

I tried again a little afterwards, and the amp turned on... and stayed on.

I'm thinking ground issue?

question for ya....was it the amp turning off, or was it the HeadUnit turning off? Im having the same problem when i turn everything on, but the Headunit is turning off, which is therefore turning the amps off.....
