Hi,

I have 2 6x9 in the rear and 2 4"pioneers in the doors and two tweeters. Alpine head unit. Looking to add a amp. Iv e heard you can use 4 speakers on a two channel amp. Ill run the two tweeters off of the 4" door speakers with a in line crossover. I dont like alot of bass and the blaupunkt 6x9 are doing good. Nice sharp clean bass. Im looking for a amp for $150 or less, w/adjustable bass and crossovers....maybe im dreaming:) I would love to get a Blaupunkt PCA 250 2 channel amp.This amo is $50. I could run two of these, but dont want to have to buy all kinnds of things for my car battery to run both. Inm geussing I can run one amp on a my car battery without any troubles? Here are the specs if that helps.

* 2/1 channel audio amplifier

* 2 x 50W RMS or 1 x 150W RMS @ 0.1% THD

* 2 ohms stable (non-bridged mode only)

* RCA type inputs

* 0.3-6.0 VRMS input capability

* Variable High-Pass & Low Pass 50-250 Hz

* Variable Bass Boost 0 -+ 12dB

* Frequency responce: 20-30,000 Hz

* S/N >100 dBA at full power @ 0.1% THD

* > 85 dBA at 1W/1M

Not looking for a ton of power, just clean music.Sorry so long.

Thanks for any help

Def. want to go with a 4 channel. When running two different speaker sizes like that you want to be able to have individual crossover settings for each pair. The 4's wont handle much bass so you would want to activate the high pass filter for them. But since you want bass from the 6x9s you would want to leave thiere half of the amp full range. Aside from frequencies the power handling for both is different so you need a four channel for independent gain control front/rear. good luck. let me know if you have more ?'s

Yea I was pretty sure a 4 channel amp would be best. Cant seem to find any good ones for less then $200 though. Have any suggestions? Im not sure what amps are good. I know better then to buy the amps that say there 800 watts for $80 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Havent looked at any classified adds. I prefer to buy new from on line stores or local stores. I defenitly dont do e-bays or anything like that..

Thanks Jim. That might be a good option. Are Orion Amps dependable and all? Im going to try to hook this up myself, ive never messed with amps, but it looks pretty straight forward from what I have read. As long as I get a good amp wiring kit.

THanks for all the help and suggestions:)

Im sure I maybe asking more qeustions soon:)

ok....thanks very much Jim. Ill go with the Orion then. Im sure you know alot more then I do. I know there are alot of junk products out there and I defenitly want as much as I can get for the money.

I saw that and thought about it. Im not much on refurbish products though. Usually there defective products that had to be fixed much earlier then it needed. Im really interested to see what Jim has to say about the Clarion amp. Im 40 yrs old, and back in my day, Clarion was one of the top products backj then. I allways liked them. But if ya'll think the Orion would be better then thats whatI would get
