Well I'm piecing together my own set of components to use with my HT system.

This is what I've got so far:

A/D/S Crossovers:

Terminals:

Going to get:

3 Tweeters:

3 AA Poly Mids:

Do you guys think I should get any poly fill for the enclosure?

Also my reciever runs at 8 ohms. Can I put a resister inside the box inline with the wiring to make my 4 ohm components present an 8 ohm load to the reciever?

OT Question: Why 3 of each? Where are you going to place the 3rd one?

1. Unless your floorstanders use the same mids and tweets, you're going to have timbre issues. It's best to match all three front speakers in a 5.1 setup, the rear satellites can vary if needed.

2. What you get in cheapness with those A/D/S Xovers, you lose in any sort of flexibility. Personally, I'd rather come up with a simple 1st order or basic 2nd-order design that actually works with what I'm trying to do, not adapt a cheap part to do the job...basically, it's a question of how much it's worth to you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Well, the speakers i'll build are going to be a LOT better than the ones already setup there. I'm running the two floorstanding with 3 speakers off of a logitech Z680 system. Needless to say the floorstanding dominate the others to a point where they're almost useless.

Personally I would build a well established design rather than throw a few a drivers together with a prefab crossover.

Without a well matching crossover, the expensive drivers won't know what to do with the sound. Building a crossover isn't difficult either - http://www.partsexpress.com/projectshowcase/xover/xover.html

Whats your budget? There are many fantastic designs out there for all sorts of prices.

and you should always use some sort of dampener in the cabinet.
