ok , ive got 2 RE8 subs (DVC 4ohm) running off of a PG Xenon 400.1 amp

I know this amp is supposed to put out the same power @ 1-4 ohms, but I was wondering, My subs are currently wired 40hms, will it make any difference if I wire them down to 1ohm...Friend of mine said I might eke out just a a little more power .

and btw, the amp birthsheet says 425watts
