a little help please....

after shopping around, i'm down(i think) to two new h/u's. the alpine CDA-7894 and the sony CDX-MP70. my budget for the stereo is under $400 and i can get either for the same price (having other things done at same time). i've looked and listened to both. alpine wins the looks, a push the features,'cept preout output which alpine wins. my problem is that it's going in a 4x4 truck w/ a pretty flexy dash and i abuse the truck. i don't want any skipping!

anyway, to cut it short, i need opions from people that's had either/ or, they skip? how'd they sound in the real world? durability? help, i gotta decide by friday!!! other h/u suggestions welcome, same questions and please remember the budget price!! Thnx!

as far as brands i have used Kenwood, JVC, and Clarion. Have heard Alpine, Pioneer, and Eclipse. Personally i liked the kenwood best out of what I have used, and for seen....Pioneer or Alpine. The alpine i didn't see anything cause the LCD was ****kked but it played just fine!!

Personally I would choose the Sony just for the fact that I havent ever had any problems with mine and I'm not really a big fan of alpine HU's for some reason. However, there have been a lot of people that have complained about Sonys skipping...I have yet to hear a good alpine HU skip badly....

Alpines don't skip too much. Pioneers look and sounds really good. Today I am going HU shopping so.....

just so u know...i've bought(actually it's on layaway) the alpine cda-7894. it all all the options of the sony, save the cd tray, and was $100 cheaper. also the dealer gave me a pretty good skip demo.....let's just say the alpine didn't skip and the board about came out the wall.
