A few questions.

Ok for starters is an 80 amp maxi fuse on 4 gauge wire to small for 1k rms power powering 2 12's?
Question number 2 is how would 2 of the newer alpine type r's sound in a 3.75 cubic foot side ported box?
80 will work but if its cca 4ga its rated at 100 and if its ofc 150..and that box is a lil on the small side for the type rs esp on only 1krms..if u havent bought it or if its not dirt cheap id pass..also side fire loses alot of output vs rear fire in some vehicles..mine especially...what amp? What car?

93 honda prelude the amp is an spl z1x 3000d mono its rated for 2300-2400 rms at 1 ohm but id say it will only do about 2100-2200 clean

The reason I asked about the fuse rating is because my amp blew through 5 80 amp fuses in 5 minutes 1 day but it worked on a different brand 80 amp for a year the way it was before the first 1 burn out. I've clipped cleaned and reskinned all my wiring except for the ground behind my rear seats I havent checked to see if this has helped any cuz its my last fuse.

Id order some 100s or 150s..and redo all the connections or if it has 1/0 inputs id go ahead and run 1/0 u can get a execution audio amp kit for 45 bux go for it

The only connection I havent redone is the ground behind my rear seat havent felt like takin my back seat apart. I've concidered getting 2/0 or 1/0 but I dont really want to if I dont need to. It blows the fuses at and above 14 after a min on my alpine cda 9807. Also when the first fuse blew it kinda welded itself in the fuse holder and melted the plastic casing a little 1 day when it was cold. Any idea why it did that? The cold mabe?

Nah they melt or pop due to loose or or poor connections or that amp could be drawing mire than the wire can support ..4ga is small for a 2k amp ..it would be worth the 45 bux if ur gona redo it redo it right so u dont have to ever worry about it or upgrade

So even though I'm only usin 1k rms that could be why its blowin fuses?

If u have the amp set properly for 1k then 4ga is fine ..its the connections that are causing a problem ..make sure theres no nicks in the jacket and no strands of ground and power can touch each other or metal..all it takes is 1 little strand to fcck up..also make sure all crimp or solder joints are solid and ur grounds are bare metal

Ok thanks I guess the last thing to try is the ground.
