Do these work to add extra mid-bass ? Im getting new DD comps and id like to get as much midbass as possible. These are pretty cheap but i still dont wanna waste money.

Second, What are the Alpine models with the Phantom face. I know of the 7897 and thats it. I wouldnt mind getting rid of my 9886 for a phantom face if they are worth it.

tecnicaly they will help marginally

if you dampen your doors well you will effectivly create mid bass enclosure (if you do it right) it wont be air tight but will improve sound

are you running a seperate mid-bass driver or just want more from 3 ways ???

Its just components. 6.5 midbass and tweets. I honestly dont know how to deaden so im not gonna try yet. I dont wanna mess up and deal with it all.

dont waste money on them, they are to keep dirt and water off the speaker is all. deaden the doors and your dd comps should drop pretty decently.

There is a 7897 FS on CACO. But I am trying to find out if i can get one with an Aux input or Ipod input so i wont have to deal wtih the Ai-net hookup thing.
