a couple questions

yesterday i bought a 12" memphis pr sub,hooked up to a mtx rt2200 amp running it bridged 200 watts rms.it beats like hell but the amp is getting pretty hot whats a kinda cheap amp that will push this sub? also the shop i bought the sub from said this sub sounds better in a ported box is that true or just an opinion? cause its suprisingly loud for one 12 in the sealed box i have.thanks for any input

is the impedance right on the amp? and i have personally used the prs in a sealed and ported. i went from a 137.9 to a 140.1 switchin it up

its 4 ohms bridged on the amp and a 4 ohm svc sub,so it should be fine i opened up my center though seat and the amp is cooling much better.thanks about the difference in sound.the guy told me today he would build me a custom ported box especially for my car for $125 is that a good deal?

thats questionable for me man. if it makes you happy thats all that matters, but runnin only 200 watts isnt gonna be THAT much change in sound. if it was 1000 watts or more maybe, then absolutely, so really its your call on that one. hope everything works out for ya------Rob
