A couple of questions?

I just got a TSX. Great car, shitty *** stock system. Anyways I knew that and I was going to change everything anyways cause I already had a bunch of stuff from my last car. I need some help with some things...before I ask my questions I will write down what my system consists of...

(1) Alpine CDA-7815 HeadUnit

(2) MB Quart QSD 216 Components (6.5")

(2) 300/2 JL Audio Amps

(2) 12" W7's

(2) 500/1 JL Audio Amps

(1) AlumaPro 15 Farad Capacitator

(1) Yellow Top Battery

(1) 200 Amp Alternator

1) First off, the TSX has a weird Stock HU and I do not think it can be replaced. I can have it customly fit where there is an open compartment underneath the stock HU but I think it would look bad having 2 stereos on my dash. How important is it that I have a Head Unit for Sound Quality. Will it sound horrible with the stock Head Unit with all my other components?

2) The speakers in the TSX are 2 tweeters in dash, (2) 5.25 in front and (2) in back with another (2) 6x9. The speakers I am putting in are 4 (6.5") and 4 Tweeters. I think I am going to put 2 of the 6.5" where the 6x9 are. Then have kick panels built for the front 6.5". Good Idea?

3) Last problem, I do not think my yellow top battery is going to fit underneath my hood. That is a huge problem because I need power and I do not know what to do. Any suggestions?

Any help is greatly appreciated //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Red Top is what you would have under your hood, thats a primary starting battery. Yellow top you would put in your trunk.

u could probably just leave the stock headunit in there but just leave it unhooked. hook up ur new one underneath where u said.

put the front 6.5's in kicks. then get some adapter plates to fit the 6.5's in the 6x9 slots.

well i doubt u'll be able to fit 2 batteries under that hood. the yellow top u might as well put it in the trunk becuz u said u are having a hard enough time with the red top.

I just found out that they make an optima yellow top for my car. It is much smaller and does not put out as much amps but still much better then stock battery. I would still like to run my optima yellow top in the trunk. What would I need to do for that to work?

I think you can ditch the 15 farad capacitor as well. 15 farads is HUGE for how much power your drawing. The rule of thumb is 1 farad for every 1000 watts, for those who actually like caps(me not included).

Nothing wrong with a stock stereo.

You should purchase a AudioControl 3.1. The 3.1 will take a speaker input and output .5v all the way up to 7.8v (stat sheet says .2-8 but I tested a few).

As for the capacitor: dont even use them. They are a waste of money and they only help stabilize the voltage not the ampreage. If your really worried about eletrical problems, I would look into a Jacob's Voltage Stabilizer. Its a little gadget that can output any voltage no matter of load size.

With unregulated amplifiers, you could keep the voltage coming out @ 14.5v, which in other terms, monster power.
