A couple of questions. . .

Hello all, I got an '08 2-door Civic and the stock stereo sucks! I've been into car audio for around 12 years, but I've always taken out the factory stuff and put in aftermarket stuff - which makes everything so much easier! This time I am going to keep the factory radio(Head Unit) in the car.

This is what my plans are. . .

I'm taking out the front speakers and replacing them with the regular CS 265 Profi's being run off a Kicker ZX350.2 or a JL 300/4.

I am taking out the rear speakers and stock sub and not replacing them at all.

I have a bunch of subs at home, so I have a couple options I could go with, but this is my list:

(1) 12W7

(2) 12W6V2's

(2) 13W6V2's

(1) 13W6V2

Either option will be sealed and running of a JL 1000/1.

I listen to mostly everything, but Southern/Classic Rock is what i like most.

So my couple of questions. . .

Which sub option would you pick?

Would an EQ possibly help with the clarity, since I'm using the factory radio?

Which amp would you use for the Profi's?

If I wasn't clear on something, let me know. Thanks!

Oh, and with the JL Slash series amps, you can convert the stock speaker wires to RCA's, so I won't need a LOC if I use both JL amps. . . I think!

Yeah, I figured I wouldn't get much input on the subs. But, I'm leaning more towards the (2) 13W6V2's, since winter is coming and I need to weigh the car down!

As for the EQ. . . Any recomendations? I've always used Alpine CD placyers that had built-in 7 Band EQ's. Also, would I need to use a LOC to connect everything, or could I still use my speaker wires as RCA's and then wire them to the EQ? Thanks.

well im surprised more ppl arent commenting ont eh subs... i personally would run the two subs over 1 also but i hear great things about the w6 and ppl around here seem to prefer them over the w7

about tthe EQ i always like external that have more than 7 bands (mine ahs 30) but most i see need low level inputs.. 7 is better than nothing.. but 15-30 you can do alot more

you sure the stock radio doesnt have any preouts? i doubt it but never know with newer models

I, at different times, have used all of those subs. I've had too many cars and changed my systems so many different times, but i've never kept the factory radio. Also, the 13W6V2's are the best sounding subs I have used. I'm not sure if there's any pre-outs on the radio. If anyone has experience with an '08 2 door civic that wants to chime in, feel free! If not, I will check tomorrow - I only have internet at work. Thanks for the feedback, though!
