I am looking for suggestions on a mid driver that has a little boom to it that I can make an MDF adapter and mount it free-air in that location. This would be powered off the QAA1000 about 250W per side. Any suggestions?

i have some coustic DR 306 6.5" subwoofers/midbass ( i was going to cross them around 60-400 hz) you can buy for $55 shipped //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

they can handle around 100wrms. 4ohm

How about the Tang Band 6x9" subs?

They're 8 Ohm drivers and rated for 90w so an output of 180w ~ 200w @ 4 Ohms would work well for them...

With the gains on your Quart 4ch set conservatively they ought to work pretty good for what you're needing.

Add to that you can get a pair of them for

I always thought a round speaker was better? Would the TB's mount in a 6x9 opening or is MDF required?

Another thing is I don't know where you order TB's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

The TB 6x9 Neo sub is on sale right now. $49 marked down from $79.
As is the 8x12.
Both of those, however, are 4 Ohm drivers and I'd wager not quite up to the task of taking the amp he's wanting to drive them with.

The 8 Ohm version of the TB ByNine 'sub' as I posted earlier would be a much better choice when considering the power he has on tap @ 4 Ohms...

Seriously, go read some reviews of the Peerless SLS8 on DIYMA. It will do what you want. Recommended power is 125 watts @ 8 ohms. They will blow your ****ing mind.

That was something I was going to try also to remove some of the gasjet from the front

Definitely hard to beat, but they're deep. Didn't know these were still floating around.
