99 Taurus install (pics)

This was my first install where I actually hid all the wires and tried to make it look good. I heard that Taurus's and Mercury Sables that model are the hardest to install because everything is located in the truck so I'm happy with it for now hoping to get a little more bang in there though. =] I'm open to any and all comments and suggestions. I would like to do something with the wires but I don't know what, they barely make it to the amp.

Nothing too fancy but it does the job.

I need to get some major touch ups on my car here are some pics of that too.

Ex-girlfriend keyed it =[ It's like that all the way down the passenger doors almost from bumper to bumper.

The circle marks were there when I bought it but the web looking crack is from when I rear-ended someone going like 10 mph.

Anyone know where/how I could get that uglyness fixed?

P.s. Thanks for viewing.

Not a horrible first install.

Some pointers:

Mount all of that stuff...don't let it just sit in the trunk (it will cause problems later)

Get the power/ground away from the RCA's and speaker wire or you may end up with Ground loop (engine whine) sometime.

Feels good finishing your first, huh?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif But yeah, you should of read up some on the companys before the install, because your gonna hear alot of feedback on different amps and what you should of brought. So knowing the nature of all car audio fans, you will upgrade. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif So at least make it were it want be a hassle to. By the way, my girlfriends taurus was pretty easy to install. Not much of a chore, I installed her amp on the fold down back seat. Im pretty sure yours will fit. Place your amp there, just not on the floor. Also how many RMS/ Watts is your amp, because I guess it pretty decent for two subs. So I suggest I bigger power wire and ground. At least 4 AWG.....DONT WONT A FIYAHHHHH

Jmanpc - I know the amp isn't that great I'm saving up trying to get a new one I know the one I have is only pushing about half the power the subs can handle. If you think it's so ugly then what would you do to make it better?

Pl8er - Would it be better if I cut a small hole in the wall right by where the RCA's go to my amp and put them in through there?

Dbman150 - Compared to how my truck was I just had all the wires on the floor running through the truck. As far as the wire size I'm not really sure how big it is I think it's 16.

Enellz - the only problem I have with mounting the amp there is that the wires won't reach the amp then.

I understand, but trust me man I've seen dudes sh*t fry over dumb stuff. One as stupid as not putting a fuse in. Believe me fried amps aint cool...but congrats. Bass is your drug now....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

What size power and ground wires do you have running to that amplifier? The wires look dangerously too small, seriously.

Bolt everything down. Just sitting an amp and speaker box on the floor of your trunk and wiring them up is not 'installing' them.

Welcome to the sickness.

thats what i was asking he said 16 he thinks thats no good

I wanted to avoid hurting any of the stock parts on the car so I could keep it in good condition for a trade in or what so ever. I do know that the ground and power are the same size but I'm not sure exactally what size. What would you guys recommend?
