Noob here. Well, it's been like 30+yrs since my last install anyways.

I've replaced some just to get the stock crap out. The pieces that will

remain are the Pioneer HU and rears.

It's my daily driver, so I'm interested in SQ.

Looking for some advise on which way to go here, and, what I may need

in the way of possible electrical upgrades. The "itch' has arrived!

'99 Ram Sport std. cab, 5.9 Auto 4x4

Small acoustic space, you bet. Recently bought and it's as new w/35k mi.

Anyhow, what I've installed/done so far:

HU; Pioneer DEH-P9400MP

Changer; Pioneer CDX-P1280 12 Disk Changer

Sub; JL Audio StealthBox (as yet un-wired)

Doors; Fosgate FRC3269 6x9 2-ways

I know, I know. 6x9's? But no panel trimming and fit behind perfect.

Rear; Fosgate FNQ3614 2-way 6.5' Components

6.5's mounted opposing, low in stock pos behind seating

Tweets currently glass mtd behind head rests. Not bad jumped @ -6db.

Wiring; The Big 3. Yea, I've lurked here for a while //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

Now, what I want to ask advice on here is what below will functionally work and

what electrical upgrades might/will be needed. The FNQ's are from an old ride.

I like the sound they produce and I'm very familiar with them.

Front: Fosgate FNQ3146 3-way 6.5" Components

Doors; 6.5" mids from the FNQ3614

Kicks; 4" mid-range (to be installed at a later date if req'd)

Tweets; 1" tweets dash mtd opposing at corners of windshield

Sub; J-L Audio SteathBox

Rear: Fosgate FNQ3614 2-way 6.5' Components

6.5" midbass from the FNQ3146 mounted opposing, low in stock pos behind seating

Tweets in rear will find a more pemanent "home' back there.

Amp(s) you ask? Well, couple of choices here to use.

I have all the below amps, just a choice of what to use.

Also, I have a Fosgate CPCC40 40 Farad Carbon Cap.

US Amps USA-5600X 5ch. The 6 input model, not the 4.

75x4 and 200x1

or

Necessary electrical upgrades to use the below 3 amps.

Higher amp alt? Cap(s)?

2x Pioneer PRS-X340

Bridged 150x2. One for the mids and one for the tweets.

Pioneer PRS-X320

Bridged 375x1 to power the sub.

Someone? Anyone?

If I use the Pioneer amps, their gains WILL be lowered as I already am exhibiting

hearing loss //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif resulting from my childhood. But my love of musc remains!!

TIA,

wardog

lol alright let me try and sift through this stuff. everything looks like it'd work mechanically. you probably wouldnt need a huge battery since you are only putting 400 watts to a single sub setup. wouldnt even need a cap. Ram trucks are very good with electrical systems. a big 3 is really all you'd need. i dont know what else to tell you but that is my .02 cents!

I replied to your other thread. Id look at Infinity Kappas for the money on 6x9 components and an amp. But I would have chosen the kenwood over...

Well, there is always a bypass that can be McGuyvered. So next time you want to tackle that task, post it. We can help.

So flat can be synonymous with bright? I assumed otherwise…shows my level of understanding. Speaking of mixing or mastering, the way it’s setup...
