9887 Configuration

I just swapped my CD7000 for a 9887 and now I cant hear the subs. Ive gone through the HU and the subs are turned on and in stereo mode (L/R vs just one channel), bottom of the unit is set to F/R+sub rather than 3-way. Subs are set in phase. I guess the only thing I have left to try is the Imprint.

Any ideas on what to check?

The eclipse has a much higher pre-out voltage. check gains?

Preout on the CD7000 is 5v, 9887 is 4v.

I had this problem with my 9886 I fixed it by getting a cd5030 :/

Make sure subwoofer output is turned on. Just had this problem on a 9886 in a buddy's truck...

When you push on the main knob (the volume knob, has fade and what not), a subwoofer level should come up. If it doesn't the sub isn't on.

It comes up. I have that set at 0 of 15.

If it's like the older alpine units, it should be at 15/15 to get 4v to the preout

It's not bass boost, you have to turn that up to get any kind of voltage for the sub output...

The SQ on the 9887 is steps above the CD7000 and I havent even gotten out the Imprint kit or done TA yet. Just the clarity in the speakers is insane. From reviews Ive read its on par with the Pioneer P880PRS/P800PRS.

Regardless. The only thing the manual says about the subwoofer scale from 0-15 is that you cant change it if the subwoofer is set to off.

Set you're gains to about 25 or so on the headunit and up to 10-15 on the subwoofer level so you can turn the subs down without have to turn the volume down.
