I have a 1995 Tahoe. I got EU700's for christmas from my girlfriend, so my kicks that my 6500's were in werent gonna cut it anymore. I decided to ditch the kicks and make new door panels to house both 6.5's, the crossover, and then the tweeter. Problem was, I didnt want to glass the whole door, and I dont like the painted interior look. I decided to unattach the bottom section, glass on it, texture and color match it, and then reattach it. I used a dremel to cut the plastic melted knobies that held on the section, and then used a soldering iron to melt away any plastic that still held the section on.

Bottom Off. It left a nice frame I hadn't expected.
I was able to re-attach the panel so It didnt look ugly for the 2 weeks ill be working.
Rear of the Detached Section
Rings for the 6500's; 1/2" MDF + 1/4" Hardboard
Rings for the EU700's; 3/4" MDF + 1/2" MDF
