Well here it is guys... a video! Yes I know it's crappy and it has a nasty logo in the middle but I'm using the only camera I have available (my cell phone) and every time I tried to upload the video the sound would come out f*cked up, so I had to convert it to an AVI file which is why the watermark is there... *breath*... but anyhow...

It still needs a little cleaning up. My license plate goes apeshit but the trunk sounds good. Some mo' progress...

Deadened my doors today, and looked more in depth at mounting the 6.5"s in the stock 5.25" location... looks like I'm going to have to build a 1" MDF baffle to accommodate them, any less and the magnet will interfere with the window mechanism; any more and the trim panel will not go back on. Looks like I'll have to cut out the greater part of the door trim panel anyways to fit these behemoths in there. Pics below

It looks patchy on the outside, but there were too many little clips and levers and motors and wires and etc etc to do a bang up job there, so I focused on covering about 90% of the outside door skin, and got a good portion of the reverse side of the inside door skin.

Yeah, well the guy at the store told me that the RT had a 3 year warranty as opposed to a 1 year for the YT, so I went with that one. It's still a great battery... I ran my system for 30 minutes at full tilt without realizing my car wasn't running, and it started right up... also left my inside lights on all night and came out and the car started fine the next morning.

And yeah that's the only battery I have... stock 160amp alt, and Big 3... some minor dimming but voltage hardly ever drops below 13.0v //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

wow thats cool, maybe youll get away with no alt. Got a battery for the trunk? Since its louder facing the cabin, you might want to carpet a beauty panel and put it over that box, and seal the trunk right there. Would look clean.

I might get a battery for the trunk eventually, it might help with the small amount of dimming I have.

Me and my friend who originally suggested the kick panel location for my comps got into the nitty gritty of the kicks, and decided it wouldn't be worth the trouble to mount them there... for one, there's a big mess left by the people who installed my alarm... two, the kicks wouldn't leave me much room for my left leg, and three it's just going to be a pain in the *** to work in such a cramped space so I am going to build some door pods.

matt you can mount those in the doors without having to glass them in...it will save you time and look much cleaner if you just cut a nice piece of wood for trim that fits where the speaker cover/grille was then mount the mids in the doors...with the new wood on the door it will look like your mids are reverse mounted...after its all done wrap the door piece in vinyl and call it a day.
