I don't really trust most PSi parts either.
A friend of mine had 15" lv5 and it was rock solid once we use Nightshade recone kit. He had constant problems with his lv6 recones as well. I was very not impressed with their softparts.
It wasn't PSI either. I don't want to seem like I'm blaming anybody, it was my fault but the recone was from splaudio.

did you go up or down in tuning? and whatre you at now tuning wise?
up from 31 to 33

how do you like the tuning change? better response, still gets down? etc. etc
Yeah it was getting down, overall it was about the same. I really didn't have enough time to get a full comparison, I only played the songs that I knew peaked with the last setup.

You broke that with the power in your signature? You would have to really ignore some warning signs to break even the stock DC parts on 3K I think.

Yeah, also I was told the recone coil was a nightshade v2 today. The stock dc soft parts didn't fail, I just recone it because I didn't like excess glue around the dust cap

Well, I don't know what to tell you. We did my friends with NSv2 softparts and it took his Atomic 5K like a champion. I used NS parts on BTL n2 and it held up surprisingly well to a wall socket and to my crown 6K (which puts out more than a wall socket ) I'm shocked that you managed to slinky that coil on 3K. Surely you must have smelled it a minute or two before failure?
