92 eldorado heat problem in chicago help

when i start my car the dash is working fine. then after about 30 seconds the dash goes to all --------. then the blower comes on and engine lights. it runs fine. at first it was doin it and stopping. but now it just stays on and i cant control the heat. can someone please help me

something kinda similar happened with my isuzu, only it was the air conditioning. it ended up being a 30$ relay.
