91 Accord front speaker replacement

Was looking at the forum today to get instructions for removing front door panels on 91 Honda EX for speaker replacement. Lots of good info. Does anyone have instructions for speaker replacement with diagrams/photos? I'm a newbie round here. Thanks for all responses.

Door pannel removal is different on every car, but usually you just have to look at your door to see where the attatchment parts are. There are usually screws around the outer edge, and some behind the door handle or door lever.

As far as speaker replacement goes, unscrew the speaker and unplug it. Splice the wires and wire a new one. If you want to upgrade and run nice speakers with an amp thats a whole nother story...

Pretty basic tho once you grasp the concepts...

you may have to cut a wooden enclosure for ur new speakers as the stock speakers are very shallow. if you switch to aftermarket speakers, the deeper voicecoil will not fit into the same hole. Get a 1/2'' - 1'' thick piece of MDF and cut a doughnut shaped ring. mount the ring to the door and mount the speaker to the ring. I know this b/c I have a 93' accord and watched my local installer do it for my speakers. As for dissassembling the door panel, referring to when your looking directly at the driver side door, there's a round cover with a screw behind it at the left bottom of the door, another screw inside the little tray thingy/hand grip below the power windows, another screw behind the hand lever where u go to open the door. make sure u don't bust this last door handle piece like i did. once u unscrew it, you have to forcibly but carefully shift the handle to the RIGHT to unlock it as it is mounted to the door. then pull out and detach the bar and wires connected to it. then pull on the sides of the door panel, the clips will come out....hope it helps, if u haven't done it already....
