I sent them out today and on Wednesday, the owner will receive them.any pics of them installed?
I appreciate that! I only been on glass 5 years, so maybe I am the noob! We never implemented in a grill because we recessed the speaker and we like the look of the speaker itself. Another problem was that these mid's didn't come with a grill as well. If they had, they would be impleneted. A mdf ring can always be cut and grill cloth and be wrapped to create an insert for a grill.I must say these look absolutely amazing, ive been installing and glassing for 16 years and i can say these are some of the best looking kicks ive ever seen, look very stock the only question i ask is why no grille? they look so stock if there was a grille it would make them sooo stealth, but like i said very, very nice work. very good attention to detail. kuddo's
All you got to do is rough the PVC up well and it will stick. I always fiberglassed and epoxied over the filler/pvc seam, as you can see in the pictures, it is the white "stuff"All I can say is: WOW!!!
Very clean work man. I'm working on my new pair of door pods. Hopefully they turn out as good as this did.
One question:
Will that filler stick to the PVC over time? I have always heard it would crack.
It was the aersol spray, it is a blue can. That is the best coarse texture I have seen to date.and did you use duplicolor spray on bedliner? or the roll on? what color can if it was the spray?
I should have taken a picture of this. But i used about half inch self tapping wood screws from the back. If you look at the original first pictures, there is 4 holes in the red "square" I was able to hit 3 out of 4 screw holes from the back and it is soild.awesome work but how did you get the speakers to stay in place ... cant see how you screwed them in .. im assuming the mounting panels in the first pictures? use small screws and mounted from the rear?
