8ga wire for low wattage amp?

I am giving one of my friends a PPI 5440 (4x30 & 1x120 all @ 4ohms). The amp does not accept anything larger than 8ga. I assume 8ga will work for this install? The length would be around 10-12ft at the most. I don't even think he will be using the sub channel but who knows later. It's for his wife 2001 Dodge truck and she is not going to be playing the music loud, he just wants to replace the stock cheap amp. The wire guide sticky states 8ga is good for 400w but I just wanted to make sure this will be okay.

Is anyone familiar w/ the Infinity system in these trucks? He said the front doors would only play bass, the back doors were factory one pc two ways and it had two small speakers in the dash w/ one tweeter in the middle. Sounds odd to me but who knows.

if 8 guage is the max you can use then it will be fine. you will not have any problems
