The truck had a mis to it, so replaced all the plugs and plug wires, rotor button, dist. cap, coil and coil wire.

Still missing, but there is an arc between the coil wire and the metal bracket for the coil. So took the coil back and got a new one thinking it was a bad coil, it still doing the same thing. Took it back once more and got a new one, still same problem. Put rubber between it, but the arc is still jumping.

What could it be?

was that the coil wire or plug wire arching? if its the coil wire, eaither the wire is defective or the coil tower is cracked or has a small hole. if its a plug wire, eaither the wire is defective or the porcelin(sp?) on the plug is cracked.

may aslo be that the wires are too small/thin as well.
