88 s10 blazer ( 1st gen ) build log

ok a few more pics, now of the drivers door panel.

also somebody pm;ed me asking how i put the pods on my door, and i told him i would get close pics so you can see how i have dont it.

but i have ruffed up the panel were the pod was going with my dermel using a sanding disk and a cut off wheel. i put small cut marks everywhere the pod was going to give bit to the glass .

and im going to put 3-4 rivets on the corners to help keep it there. and going to glass over them so you will never see then.

here an update.

look what i got from fedex today helllll ya.....

4 sq pro 6.5's

ill be order another set of comp tweeters , q-mat soon.

as im already running sq comp tweeters so going to get another set.

and its about time i start adding some deadner .

ill get more pics when i mount these 6.5 .

have you hooked up any of those sq mids to test play yet ? the pro audio type speakers usualy sound totaly diffrent than car audio type speakers... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

hello guys,

ya brian i did hook them up last night, well the passenger side as i still had to ran the wire throw the drivers door.

well did that today, also have the 6.5 comps hooked up also.

so my 4ch amp is running like this.

ch. 1 and 2 running at 2 ohms ( 2- 6.5 per ch. )

ch 3 and 4 running at 4 ohms per crossover. 1 crossover is running 1 tweeter, 1 6.5 comp.

to a drive today and all i can say its hela loud. right now im maxed out on my electrical system.

at full tilt im getting in the lower 12 v.

time to upgrade lol

ill get some more pics up soon.

as for sound ya i did notice a difference from the comps to pros.

i like it.

still have to fine-tune the amp for them. should sound better.

hers some more pics.

15" sub box - shared chamber or individual chambers ?

you already have 1 of the 15s in your truck beatin right now ? the other one will be brand new ?

the used one will have more suspension compliance than the new stiff un broken in suspension of that sub - i had the same issue in my burb. so i built identical but seperate boxes for my pair of subs.... that way they dont experience push pull from eachother if they are not EXACTLY the same in suspension compliance or inductance / one being produced in 04 and the other 06 or whatever...

i was worried because my pair one was new - and the other was extremely broken in and soft in suspension...

even in separate chambers the subs will sound different cause one is broken in and the other is new. when you get the new sub, swap with old one and break in then build the enclosure for the two. using two amps will for sure make it to where you want two chambers anyway. that thing will slam bro
