re 8's are indeed a good, and budget happy, choice for 8's.

the rl-i's are complete mosters, and can compete with the vaunted 8w7. it is rated 400wrms, but i feed mine as much as 1700 (it don't like it...lol) they sound really good and can get insanely low for an 8, as well as loud. the downside, while about half the price of an 8w7, they are still about twice the price of an re8....

the only other 8's i would recommend, rf punch hx2's...i got a best of 139.6 out them while sounding pretty good. this in an extended cab fullsize truck...

those would be my choices.....

2)re8

3)hx2----but only because they will be hard to find..

i know this has nothing to do with the topic, but has anyone heard a 12" Phoenix Gold Titanium Elite? cause i found one for 300 and i have only heard good things about them.

crystal cmp 8's handle good power,well,just look at them! also eclipse titanium 8's were cool when i had one,if they still make one,but the cmp 8 it my vote,got 2 on the way....1.25 tuned to 30hz.

l7 8 gets my vote because they are readily avalible and they can get very loud and can sound pretty good at the same time

i currently have 4 elemental designs 9kv.2's in my car. they sound really good. i have 480 watts going to them right now, so they are underpowerd (150 wrms) but i just bought a jbl bp600.1 to replace the old amp... they get loud as well, maybe not as loud as some of the other subs mentioned, but i definitely like them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

L7 8's are indded some of the loudest 8's u can get, if set up right...

rl-i's are still my choice as they are lil monsters....lol....

next to it's .17ft sealed test enclosure...adn a funky pup 8....

from the top...

some still pr0n....in that above mentioned .17ft^3 sealed and getting ~350wrms...this thing as had as much as 1700wrms on it..lol..but i'd recommend in the 300-500 range..

My two RE8's in a sealed box rattle my banus. If you ported them, lord knows how loud they could get. I feed mine about 270watts each (rms is 150, peak is 300)
