8 gauge speaker wire issue!!!!

can some one please show me what you guys are using to connect the 8 gauge speaker wire to the inside of the terminal plate cup?

Ive been look for female 8 gauge quick disconnects for the longest and havent came across any.

thats fine i was looking for suggestions. so i should solder it to the speaker cup??

so i dont mess up. all i need to dont is solder each tip to the corresponding male connector on the cup??

8ga is overkill, really unnecessarily spent money, IMO.

just use 12-10ga if you feel it absolutely necessary.

if you really think you need 8ga. inside the box you should just cut the terminal cup out, replace it with a piece of wood and do direct-connect wiring from the inside of the box to the outside (and seal around the hole for the wire). I found using 8Ga speaker wire a pain inside and outside of boxes, really not worth it

I use 8 gauge speaker wiring. And its not an over kill. These eletrical-buffs contridict them selves continously. Increasing the size does help. Here are the differnces in speakerwires for a setup @2000 watts, 5 feet of wire, with 1 ohm.

16 gauge wire:

1820 watts getting to the subs

amps: 42

Voltage drop: 2.06

14 gauge wire:

1884 watts

amps: 43

Voltage drop: 1.32

12 gauge wire:

1926 Watts

amps: 44

Voltage drop: 0.84

10 gauge wire:

1952 watts

amps: 44

Voltage drop: 0.53

8 gauge wire:

1970.19

amps: 44

Voltage drop: 0.33

...So, the differnce in upgrading from 12 gauge to 8 gauge is youll get 44 watts more of your amp and youll gain over half a volt point. Maybe not, But i bet you could tell the differnce in a 0.51 voltage drop. Thats the differnce in 10.50 volts and 9.99 volts. or 11v and 10.49v.... Yah.
