I have 6 MTX 5500 10s they are 12 ohm SVC. with all of them wired correctly the ohm load is 2 ohms. Well long story short one of these subs blew they other day and i replaced it with a mtx 5500 10" that was identical but was obviously a slight model newer or so because it was Dual 4 ohm instead of 12 ohm SVC like i needed it to be. I only wired one voice coil for now on it because i didnt want to blow anything or have some crazy ohm load. so i guess im asking you guys to be my DMM reader for a second because i dont have one around. i need to know whats the ohm load of 5 SVC 12 ohm subs and 1 DVC 4 ohm sub with 1 voice coil wired.. ..does this screw up the ohm load to something crazy or should i just unhook the 6th one and wire them the 5 to 2.4ohms? btw im running a directed 600d at the moment until i can afford a bigger amp.. thanks guys

fyi: 6 SVC 12ohm subs = 2 ohms

5 SVC 12ohm subs = 2.4 ohms

Your better off running the 5 the lowest impedance driver will see more power than all the others. I'll buy your directed when you want to sell //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

would you happen to know what my current ohm load is?

you should remove the sub that is different. only bad things can happen.

wiring the dvc 4ohm in parallel would be 1.09

and depending on how you wire up the 4ohm dvc sub, you could be at either 10.4 or 4.4 if you didn't change any of the other wiring.
ok so even if i only wire one of the DVC coils on the DVC sub those are the correct ohm loads?

well if you only wire one of the coils, you are doing it wrong.
my number before were wrong. 1.09 would be final load if all wired in parallel.

only 1 coil would be 1.5 if wired in parallel

use this Subwoofer Enclosure Calculators, Parallel, Series, Port Length and Volume
one more question..so do you think since i have it wired incorrectly currently and its at 1.5ohm right now does that bump the ohm load up 2 ohms on my directed 600d? basically am i getting the full 600wrms @ 1ohm or am i at 400wrms @ 2ohm?

it would bump it up to 1.5ohm so maybe about 500watts.

However your impedance rise will vary with each frequency and the efficiency of your box.

You can wire those subs up @8 ohms if they are both SVC4 ohm subs, and that amp will run fine after being tuned properly...

As long as the subs are close to each other and the signal to is not Inverted on any subs, cancellation is not a big issue with sealed enclosures...
