Hi all,

I am looking for a new 6.5" component sets for my new system. Car is 2002 Accord 2dr Coupe. Listen to variety of music, but mostly r&b, hip-pop, and rap. Looking to spend about $300-350. So far, listened locally to the typicals: focals, alpine, infinity at local places. I liked the focal (165A1) but more midbass would be nice. Any input on the following would be nice:

- Rainbow SLC, or SLC 'Kick' if not too much more (trying to contact 6spcoupe for prices. DON, please check your PM)

- Focal 165V2

- OZ Audio Matrix Elites

I will be buying an amp for these as well, looking at something around 100w X 2 for the 6.5" set.

Thanks,

Sang

I have a 2000 Accord 2 door coupe too, 5spd //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Nice car. Lol. Diamond Audio Hex s600s ("s" for silk tweeter) sounded very good to me. I am deciding between them and the Rainbow Germaniums, almost set on the Germs now tho. DLS also I heard was good, can't go wrong with Rainbow

Those Oz speakers you are lookin' at are extremley nice speakers!

But I would throw in a pair of the Polk Momo MMC6500

Great speakers and perform at high and low power levels

Another speaker thats very well known on this forum is the Diamond Audio Hex's everyone loves em....I thought they were pretty good myself

i also have an accord. 02 sedan. i had the diamond HEXs s600s. at first i was very impressed because it's a big upgrade from stock. but after a while i noticed a lot of flaws (lack of midbass, harsh tweeter) after listening to my friends CDT HD-62s i fell in love. i just upgraded recently. it's a lot better than the diamonds.

Look into the dls Iridiums i think you have enough. I think don is a dealer for DLS as well so jus pm him and get the prices. Or you could save a lil more adn get the germainiums:up2somet:

Thanks for the suggestions, I've decided on a set of Rainbow SLC from Don, I'll be getting em sometime next week. I wanted a 'mid-range' system so I think the SLC running of 100W would serve my purpose. Also have decided on a SS RL-p 12 in a 1.75^3 ft vented box tune to about 32Hz. Now i need to decide on amps for both:

SLC - PG Xenon X100.4 (100x4 RMS) I am running 6.5 coax in the rear as well (don't ask me why, it's not my choice). $299 @ woofersect.com

RL-p - PG Xenon X600.1 (600x1 RMS) $249 @ woofersect.com

or Kicker ZX750.1 (750x1 RMS) $329 @ woofersect.com

I am trying to stay around $600 for both amps. Let me know if I can do better. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thankyou.gif.5451126d09e870f796f50c3a4dd5acd7.gif I can't f**king wait to get all the equips and doing the installation.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Hey Sentinel,

Where did you mount your tweets in the Sedan? I don't wanna cut out my doors, so I am thinking bout mounting on the trim near the sideview mirrors...

hi, i mounted them in the stock tweeter location (at the very edge of the dash near the windshield) i was also planning on mounting it on the trim piece near the sideview mirror but if you take that piece off you will realize that it is very flimsy and i dont't hink it can hold the tweeter very well. what year is your accord?

Thanks! I just looked again and found the stock location of the tweets..I never noticed it before! It actually not my car, it's my gf car (that's probably y;) ). I imagine you access that via the side panels when you open the door?
