6 1/2" Speaker Spacers?

Has anyone ever heard of spacers for my car?

I have a 1997 Honda Civic DX Hatchback that I want to add front 6 1/2" speakers to.

However the hole is about an inch too small for the new speakers.

The new speakers are Soundstream 6.5 2-Way Speakers.

I don't want to get spacers that are too small or big and cause more issues.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

don't just make a MDF spacer, you need to waterproof the MDF. You can waterproof it with resin, paint, sound deadening, etc. You DON'T want MDF to get wet!

I also use t-nuts for mounting any speaker to MDF. 10-32 seems to work for most drivers.
