What you need is a 21" warden tuned to 29hz, with a huge port and 3k with the gain all the way up, regardless of proper amp tuning.

RWE mbquarts are awesome, had a 10, 12, and two 15s of them. clean and loud for the price and dont need much sealed space. Have a 12 as my backup

I put my mb quart 12" In 2.25 cubes @ 36 hz just to try it out, and it definately gets loud! But the sound quality took a big hit. I'd stick with sealed boxes for sure.

I'd wait for Obsidian Audio to debut. $128 plus shipping for the 12s which are said to sound comparable/better than the famous SI Mags. Or go with the SSA Dcon's previously suggested.

I actually like Rock music better in portd boxes. I have two 10" SW6010 Eclipse subs rated for 450rms and each are seeing 300rms on Diamond D3 600.1 and it sounds amazing!

Also if he wants good double kicks, needs to get more the front stage in order. I have Massive CK6's and they without question have some of the best midbass I have ever heard from a mid.

I like that DCON sub recommendation as well. That off 600rms amp would do real nice. Love my subs, but dont see them around too much any more.
