half as loud as?Mid in the door?
Large format tweeter like the Peerless HDS in the kick, if you want a tweeter to play midrange freqs.
A small format crossed at 2khz with a 12dB slope still plays 1k almost half as loud.
Also, get a real HU like an Eclipse. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
2khalf as loud as?
gotcha. i cant seem to stand my Seas neos when crossed low either. i tried them at 2.5k/12, 2.5k/24, 3.15/12, and 3.15/24, and i prefer 4k/12 over them all.2k
10 dB seems half as loud. Being 12 dB down at 1k, it's ball park i guess. Point is, the tweeter is still working down an octave with a second order roll off. Cut steeper, than it's not an issue i guess.
As many times as I've tried the Prestige aluminum down around there, I never liked it below 3.15khz or so. I'd rather have that on the MR, instead. But that's just me, carry on........ //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I don't think you're gonna like it with the Mach5 playing that high.I have them at 3.2khz
he could under lap them. keep the tweets at 3.2 and run the mids at 2.5. i have a bigger gap than that and mine sounds right.I don't think you're gonna like it with the Mach5 playing that high.
ehh... i suppose, but having a gap in your audio spectrum isn't exactly a good thing. At least to me anyway.he could under lap them. keep the tweets at 3.2 and run the mids at 2.5. i have a bigger gap than that and mine sounds right.
an under lap doesn't mean there is a gap or dip in frequency response in that area.ehh... i suppose, but having a gap in your audio spectrum isn't exactly a good thing. At least to me anyway.
unless you're talking under 20hz and above 20khz //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
Tis true. Gotta remember a xover slope is NOT a brick wall. I run underlapped also; mids LPF 2.5 @ 12dB and tweeters HPF 3.15 @ 18dB and it sounds/blends very well. I've even tried the tweets at 4k and it sounded good...he could under lap them. keep the tweets at 3.2 and run the mids at 2.5. i have a bigger gap than that and mine sounds right.
yup, i have my mids at 2.5k/12db and the tweets at 4k/12db at the moment. i'm sure the rta will show a very minor dip in the middle but thats what sounds best to me.Tis true.
