Im wanting to get 2 12"w7's and wondering want to stay with JL when powering my system. Would 2 500/1's be able to do the job? Im not willing to get 1000/1 because of the major dent in my wallet. Any suggestions if that wont work? Will i notice a huge difference if i downsize to the 10's in my avalanche?

I dont have either.. Arnt 100/1 around $500 each second hand? so i would have to pay an extra 500.. would it be worth it just to get 10's?.. would they be nearly as loud?

depend on what u want to spend. 12w7's are rated at 750w RMS actuly. Im sorry I miss understood. I thought U wanted to do 2 10's on 2 500/1's when you could do 2 10's or 1 1000/1

oh ok, no problem. Well, i guess i wouldnt really want the 12" because I dont plan on spending 1000 on amps :p.. Im in a truck though, would the 2 10's have enough thump?

thanks for the input, although i do want a loud thump with my subs, clarity is probably my #1 concern when buying them, because most of the time i wont be showing off to freinds and what not //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif. The reason im planning on choosing JL is because of their great rep, You tell people you have a JL system and they know you didn't buy it from the pawn shop across the street. but of course you cant have your cake and eat it too, so if i were to choose sacrificing loudness or quality, I would choose loudness.. to an extent :p. From what I hear JL speakers can give me an overall experience?... and would u think 2 10's would be able to fill up my car? Finally, what modifications would i need to get this power, would i need a new battery

then u shouldnt be looking at w7's

u should be lookin at w6v2's they sound really good and can get decently loud and u can somewat get away with 1 500/1

ok.. ill take your word for it... w6v2 it is :p

10's or 12's?... would there be a huge difference?

because im pretty much set on getting dual 500/1's..

still curious on what upgrades ill have to make on my engine/battery

With a pair of 500/1s you'd probably be fine with just the big 3 and an upgraded battery.

The next question is one of space. I'm assuming extended cab truck? Back seat coming out? If not you're going to be hard pressed to get the W6v2s to fit. They have a good bit of depth to them (though not as much as the W7s). 10s will be plenty. A lot of people that listen to music rather than go out to annoy people are plenty happy with a single 10 on a small amount of power, so a pair should be plenty.

IMO if you're worried about saving money. i woulsnt bother with JL amp. ya they're nice, but they're pricey. id look into a kicker zx 1500.1 for you subs depending on the coil configs. kicker amps, memphis mclass amps, mmats, us amps, tons of them out there that are equal quality for less cost......with jl you pay for a name man
