i think illegal immigration is a problem...but only because we let them in to be used as cheap labor...they are kept as second class citizens who have no incentive to integrate into our culture...they are kept at a lower socio-economic level and therefore remain aloof and separate from the rest of society.
this only breeds the type of strife currently seen in the protest..

Umm that would be true but we already have a pretty decent underclass, like any civiliazation...

we just need to open up our legal immigaration to many more people than we allow now and build a wall... 40 ft high, 40ft deep 3 walls thick with rivers of burning oil

then when some make it we use catapults to send them home

ohh and I love how the GOP is the big evil... don't forget the dems who make various attempts to take our guns... the government will never take my guns... the day they try they die

Are you willing to try to defend the actions of the current GOP controlled branches of government?

Are your trying to say the underclass cant grow? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif Besides the fact that undocumented individuals most likely don't even speak english, further isolating them from our already pre-established underclass.

No... but alot of people choose to make one side the big evil and then "their" side is like angels.... they are both ****ed up... but a quick look at history will tell you today's problems are nothing new in any case... so wtf is the point... anyways... uhh yah

very true... and the sad thing is those who think they are helping them (oregon and california being some major offenders) don't even try to help them... setting up ESL classes in high schools.. defending their "right" to not assimilate. It's nuts... they should receive full emersion english, regular schooling and eventually citizenship within 3-5 years... but they should also have full documentation and not pull the ole' fake SS# crap.. it's hurting them as much as it's hurting us.

these type issues are just smoke screens to provide cover for the GOP miserable failure on what actually counts...
about the only thing more pathetic than what the GOP has done since seizing power...is the Dem's response to it...

The us political landscape is very sad.
Im not trying to tow any party line, the dems are just as fcked up. My point was that i view most of the changes implemented by the GOP as bad for US in the long run, and wondered if you would defend some of them.

I think at heart we most likely agree on the issue. Re-read some of my post. We need a comprehensive plan that includes border security, guest worker program, and incentives for the ones already here to assimilate.

naw... I imagine there would be some I would defend but they'd be few..... but I have Financial Management and calculus tomorrow and need to sleep. Ohh and I missed the quote you posted... I was just picking on one of your posts and generalizing to one of my pet peeves.....

sounds like we agree....

you know what the funny thing is... the talk show hosts are blasting the senate bill for being amnesty and the protesters are protesting both bills (house and senate) as far as I can tell for kicking them out of the country... and in the end when the two houses reconcile the two bills it'll likey do neither and this whole issue will be forgotten in a couple months...

I agree with you. The media plays a huge roll...but this has been an issue since the republican caucus in Iowa last month..the candidates all gave speeches on the issue...with the exception of McCain..and it has snowballed since then...
And being faced with all the other crap that they cant even reputably spin in a positive light...both the house and senate republicans have turned to this...the media has chosen to cover the story, but they only do so at the prompting of government.

The huge protest also influence the media to cover the issue. However the fact that the media is giving this issue as much (if not more) air time than the documents Fitzgerald just filed in the scooter Libby trial is sickening.

The selective leaking (call it declassification if you want) by the administration of the NIE for purely political reasons...all the while publicly claiming no responcibility...might not be criminal...but is grossly dishonest and speaks volumes to the character of our president. This is a story that while being practically ignored at the moment will stand out in the history books.

At the heart of it is how we were misled into war by a campaign of scare tactics and selective release of information, by an administration determined to make war with Iraq, regardless of the cost or consequences. There was no need to enter Iraq and we were lied to in order to get us into a war based on ideology.

The GOP focused on the issue during their straw poll in Iowa...and this is the reaction they got //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I think as soon as it dies down they will let it be. You know they are shaking their heads and wondering what the fck they got themselves into //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

fck this stupid *** immigration non-issue is just being used as a distraction...i hate how when the administration and the GOP are eating shit on real issues they all of the sudden try to take the focus off by bringing up this type crap...ussually its some social type crap issue like gay marrige...but its the same basic ploy..
lets talk about the NSA, or leaking classified info..how about the fcking war...or maybe iran and north korea getting nukes while we waste time in iraq...

it just makes me sick that people are stupid enough to fall for it..

Im not saying that boarder security isnt something that should be looked into...but the fcking timing is certainly suspect and it isnt an issue that should be on the front burner...

I mean come on its a bunch of fcking mexicans coming here to do jobs americans dont want...not a big deal IMO...

I actually heard some moron on fox news talking about how the mexicans are doing it on purpose so eventually they can try to take back the land they seceded in the mexican-american war...i mean come on...

Talk to some of the south-western boardering states. What pisses me off is the president wants to grant those that broke the law citizenship or a working permit. They should all be deported and those that were in line and followed the law should be let in first, afterall they are the ones that I want. Take an econ class or look at Canada and maybe you'll start to see the issues it will cause and already has started causing in America. Look up what happens to a country when you have uncontrolled population growth and what it does economically. We will have to become a socialist state like Canada to support society and sorry but I don't want to be taxed at insane rates to support it and see little personal benefit from it. Mexico should at least be giving us free oil for the social programs that the illegals are using. Also there may have been a strategic plan with Iraq so that we don't run into as much of an oil issue with Iran. But it appears Iraq is taking longer than the president expected and now we are going to end up in an oil crunch with Iran anyway. I do feel Iran needs to be dealt with, but more than likely we will have Israel take out the various nuclear plants that Iran has. I hope americans take a stand next election and vote third party but that will never happen. I don't believe either major party really cares about america and the future of the children of america; they are all about money and power and selling out to even non-citizens in hopes of maintaining it.
