OK first off if you think the US will remain the world super power we currently are you are wrong. We need to be concerned with how we are viewed in the world. When, not if, our economy tanks we are going to be a in a world of hurt. When our dollars are worth as much as a peso everyone other country will stop selling us goods. I mean we dont even make all the electronics for our missiles here in the US..and when our money isn't worth shit anymore you think the middle east will just front us oil on credit?

EVERY empire ends...and honestly we have already had a very long run considering we are a democracy....and democracies typically do not last as long as we already have.

Its just a matter of time...your arrogant attitude about our place in the world is the type of thinking that is the problem.

i think illegal immigration is a problem...but only because we let them in to be used as cheap labor...they are kept as second class citizens who have no incentive to integrate into our culture...they are kept at a lower socio-economic level and therefore remain aloof and separate from the rest of society.

this only breeds the type of strife currently seen in the protest..

i honestly think we should secure our boarder in conjunction with a guest worker program as well as a way for the 11 million already here to gain citizenship...giving them some incentive to integrate into our society instead of remaining apart from it.

But the issue is trivial compared to the other issues we face as a nation. It infuriates me when i see issues that invoke visceral reactions like this, being used as a distraction from the major issues that are being handled so badly.
