.5 ohm to 2 ohm, need help.

ok so i had my subs wired at .5 ohm on my amp which is only 1 ohm stable but it pounded and the bass sounded crystal clear with no distortion, but i wired it to 2 ohm so i wouldnt eventually burn something up but now at 2 ohms it sounds good only at half volume and when i turn it up its starts to distort really bad. why does it sound so shitty at 2 ohms???? im running one hifonics brutus bxi2006d and four 15" ma audio 150xe's heres a pic.

by the way my subs are dual 4 ohm thats why i wired them at 2ohm instead of 1ohm.

I would guess that it sounds like that because your prolly getting half the power then you was before. Is it at all possible that you have something wired incorrectly ie out of phase? If you had one pair in phase and the other pair out it would cause what you are saying

If i went from 2000rms to 1300rms why would the subs distort it just shouldnt be as louad, right? or maybe there being under powered.?

but they sound good at half volume and i tried adjusting my phase control and it made no difrernce in sound quality.

no i left it all the same, so then i started adjusting my gain and stuff but it still sounded like crap.

If you had one pair out of phase and the other pair in phase its possible for them to sound good at lower volumes but once you turned them up they would distort like crazy

oh ok i see, but how could it be out of phase if there wired mono? by the way im pretty clueless as to how phase and shit works. so bare with me, lol.

it can't be - phase isn't the problem.

I'm guessing the amp's just clipping.

Yeah they could be out of phase. Simple wiring error. It happens to all of us. Make sure that all of you wires are correct. The coils of each sub should be wired in series (the + of one coil to the - of the other) and the subs then wired in parallel (the open + of all the subs and the open - of all wired to the + and - of the amp). If one of them is backwards it will all be messed up. It might not manifest itself until you start really getting on it because the one out of phase is still under control but once you start getting them to move, they start to flop all over.
