I already bought a 4 gauge wiring kit from wal mart (like $25 over a year ago) and in my new car I need to put in another wiring kit.

What is with this 5 gauge...? I didnt know there was such a thing. And I cant go to circuit city and spend $90 on the same thing, and I dont really feel like waiting a week for ordering from the 'net...

I have a 350watt kicker amp (350.2 SX model), and a 10" kicker comp VR... so I probably could pass for 8gauge (i think?) but I would rather go bigger in case I get another 10" or get a 12"

Also, this time I have to install it alone (my amp, sub, and head unit).... what's the best website/tutorial for installation?

Thanks.

Adding another sub wont do a thing for your power consumption unless that amp is 2 ohm mono stable. A 4 ohm mono load would create a larger draw then 4 ohm stereo would.....

As for 5 gauge -they make gauges for any number value. It is all relevant to the area of the copper in that cable. So yes there is 5 and 7 gauge, are they popular, no, but they are out there. Atleast they are being honest about content, unlike some, with the 4 gauge cable - or should I say insulation and 6 gauge copper wire inside it....lol

glad to see on this forum

knukonceptz 4ga amp kit for teh win!!11one1

My friend got his kit fast, excellent kit, very complete, etc

Wait a week and get quality components instead of getting the cheapest thing at walmart.. and that is coming from one of the most impatient people ever (me)

But isnt it all the same stuff? I mean i wouldnt think that having a schosche brand over a kit that cost $100 would sound any different? My current setup (4ga. schosch) sounds pretty nice...

How does this look guys?

I am thinking about getting rid of my rear fill (6x9) and replacing my front doors with these...

In my current car I have 3 inch infinity speakers (they were $60 from onlinecarstereo)

Right now (3000GT) there are four stock infinity speakers... so I dont know how much of an upgrade I will get with the new infinity 5.25" door speakers

Wire is NOT all the same stuff, but once you get to a certain point there are negligible differences.

How would you know what wire sounds good to you if you've never heard different wiring with your setup? Wire does make a difference.

I guess ill look around for one one on onlinecarstereo... not getting any recommendations even thought people say get a different wiring kit.

I remember going to CC and seeing the 4ga. wire ONLY (none of the other cables) for like $80 or $90.

I feel dumb though, i forgot what all i am supposed to get in the wiring kit..i installed my current system over 1 1/2 yrs ago
