Hey guys. This is my first post here and Im looking for some insight. I am 19 and drive a 2007 4runner sport edition V8 with standard non-jbl stereo. Im looking to beef up the sound a bit and have some components picked out. Im looking to spend no more than $800 on stuff and would like to attempt to install it myself. Here's what I have picked out so far. If you have links to better places/prices please let me know:

Alright here's what I have pieced out. I plan on keeping my stock NON-JBL headunit for now due to financial constraints. (soon to be sophomore in college)

Front Component Speakers:

Rear Speakers:

Amp:

Wires:

Is there anything else I need other than speaker wire?

The amp connects to each of the speaker wires out of my stock NON-JBL headunit correct?

How hard would an install like this be other than time...I am mechanically and electrically inclined..never done car audio however.

My buddy is hooking me up with a 10" Alpine Type R sub w/ ported box and amp..that is what the distribution block is for.

Where do you recommend I mount the amps? If in the open...can they easily be removed or should I try and shove them in stock sub location?

Thanks again for all your input...I am sure that it will sound worlds better than stock.

EDIT:

Im planning on saving up for a NAV HU later because I am financially pushed to my near limit. (too be sophomore in college)

if you don't put the rear seats down and load the vehicle ever, then mount the amps on the back of the rear seats, and neatly run the wires up the backs.

that amp says nothing about high level inputs, so you will need rca's

however, I would look into other amp options...you should be able to get more amp for the same or less $

oh, to simply get RCAs, can I splice the wires from the HU to speakers attach RCA cable to spliced wire run to amp then back to speakers?

you can buy what is called a line out converter, which takes the high voltage signal from the hu's amp and drops the voltage to typical rca input voltages, then you plug rca's into the LOC and run them to the amp

If you're implying that you wanna keep the stock HU then no you will need a line converter.

edit... yeah what he said^^

Since you're not getting a subwoofer, you'll want some speakers with good midbass output. Infinities have none. I suggest the Pioneer Premier TS-C720PRS components. They can be had online for about $250. The Pioneer TS-D1602R coaxials (about $90) can be used for rear speakers, if you want rear speakers. Many people on here, myself included, don't use rear speakers (except for a subwoofer).

For an amplifier, you can pick up a Cadance TXA-6004, which has about twice as much power as that Infinity (which is a fine amp), for less money. http://www.cadencestore.com/ProductCart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=125&idproduct=385

Does this harness have anything resembling an LOC? If not, I would guess that is the issue. I would test an inline passive LOC.
