4k on my electrical??

you'll be fine...shit i ran 9k daily on a 160 amp alt 1 34/78 deka up front and 2 g31 dekas in the rear....im down graden power now...but ill be runnin 3k+ off a stock alt and a couple batts here soon...just be smart...keep ur batts charged...watch ur voltage

i hear stuff like this all the time lol.. ppl say get a h/o alt.. other are like na just get some good batteries. im just going to get rich and buy alt, 2 batts for my truck and an isolator. who knows if i even need it. lol

Lol if your amp is rated to do a bunch of power at 14v, you're not going to see that power almost ever unless your voltage doesn't drop. The amp loses LOTS of efficiency and output when the voltage drops from 14v to 12v. Misinformation is rampant on this site.

that makes sense. i mean im the kind of guy where id rather overdo the shit out of my builds. Im running an SAZ 2000d and a bazooka 60x4. Its only at 4 ohms now (the sundown amp) but when i start knockin 2500 watts (max) im going to be running a mechman 270amp (155a @idle 270 @ 1800rpms) and not pos on batts yet, but wost case 2 d3400 (xs power) one under hood and one in back. that would have no probably with less that 3k watts correct?

If you got the money, go for it. I ran two yellow tops (and not even group 31's), on a 140 amp stock alt to a Massive Audio 3k.1 and it never shut off or gave me problems with my electrical. Overkill is great. I would do it too if finances allow me to do so.
