want to run 4k @ 1ohm

Im going to put an optima 34 under my hood

and I will have a kinetic 1800, and a shuriken bt 100 in the trunk.

I have a mechman 150a-170a H/O alt

what do you think?

You might be able to burp 4k with an amp rated for 4k @ 12v. You can't do 4k daily. I'd say more like 1800 -2k daily. You spent too much in batts and not enough in the alt. Plus why 3 different kinds of batts? What does each one rest at?

too bad you bought those batts the dekas have would have got you to where you need to be to run 4k daily i have one that will fit up front and then 2 in the trun for cheap.

Not enough alt power man...you'll need at LEAST 3-4 good batts and at least 250-300A worth of alt to do that daily...

I know personally that 3 good batts and a 225A alt will run 3kw daily with no dips.

you'll be fine...shit i ran 9k daily on a 160 amp alt 1 34/78 deka up front and 2 g31 dekas in the rear....im down graden power now...but ill be runnin 3k+ off a stock alt and a couple batts here soon...just be smart...keep ur batts charged...watch ur voltage

people tend to go overboard with electrical, even though thats not a problem...
I disagree. I think most people on here (especially the noobs) don't do enough. Why would you want to run your stock alt at 100% of it's capacity? If your going to run with the big boys and run thousands of watts of power you need to have a beefy electrical to back it up. Having a weak electrical just weakens the entire system as a whole. Low voltage kills amps man. It's always better to oversize what your doing. If your going to have a 100A draw then you build your electrical to handle a 150A draw (at least that's how we do it when designing circuits/power supplies). Running your supply at 100% it's capacity will cause something to fail eventually.

Lol if your amp is rated to do a bunch of power at 14v, you're not going to see that power almost ever unless your voltage doesn't drop. The amp loses LOTS of efficiency and output when the voltage drops from 14v to 12v. Misinformation is rampant on this site.
