4 tens or 2 twelves?

man, you want it to thump your chest or not? do 4 15's, turn it down for listening to music, up for blowing ear drums. my 2 15's will make you pretty ****ed uncomfortable if thats what i'm trying to do, but i mostly listen to stuff like pink floyd, widespread panic, santana, metallica, with the volume at about 1/2 what i turn it up to for slamming purposes and the bass on the deck almost all the way down. its not like i drive around blaring young jeezy and lil jon all day.

i mean shit, if you going to buy 4 speakers anyway, pay for an amp big enough to run them all, and the electrical upgrades, then build a box, might as well go with the extra output capability right?

well i have two of the big three. and also i am not going to get another amp. i have a bx1605D and im looking for a good match for this amp. also i want to spend $600 at the absolute most. maybe 2 15's would work. i just don't think that a 15 would sound good for fast kick drums. i mean it would be TOO low

1 12, properly installed, get a ten if you have a small trunk..................................

if you like metal you don't need to break your neighbors windows... get one twelve, save the cash an headache, and invest in a nice set of rainbow germaniums, use damplifier on the doors and such......................

15's also dont play any lower than 10's or 12's. they can move more air, so one 15 will play a low note easier than a 12, same as 2 12's would.

my 15's have no trouble with dream theater...

x2, for metal i'd just do a sealed 10 or 12, and work on my door speaker install, because most of your bass is gonna be in the midbass range

you're gonna spend all this money for a substage, and wonder why they're not playing anything when you pop in your cd's

You've never sat in my car before and heard my two 10's have you .....lol

but i want to have the option of breaking my neighbors windows. i love rap too. i am willing to sacrifice a little of one to get the other. im going for a balance here

1 12, properly installed with the right amount of power will get loud enough to permanently damage your hearing.... now... if you want balance, invest in your front speakers... nice amp (Zapco, DLS, Arc etc), get NICE front speakers (Rainbow Germanium, maybe a little lower if you can't afford them) and a decent sub/amp.... it'll suit you better and manage to stay in your vehicle longer than if you get 2 12's or 4 10's...
