I've tested with several different boxes and every time it's louder on the TL when side ported. With my single 15" setup I lose at least 0.5db. Lost a full 1db at a comp once just by twisting the box to port back. I also gain more in the floor with my side ported spl box. This box doesn't do much better in the floor though. Probably because of the low tuning. The biggest benefit is I can fit more into the cargo area with a side ported design.Does port side not hurt your score?
Hmm...that's funny. Also the Explorers owners that I've ever talked to have said that they must run their ports back. I guess that goes to show that every car is different.
