i have one PA gothic 1600w 310w x2 @4ohm amp and four kenwood typhoon subs 35-400rms i had two of the subs runin on this amp fine now i have two more .. is it possible to run all 4 subs? by putting two subs on each channel or do i need another amp?

thank you

well I assume they are single 4 ohm subs and the amp is not stable to 1 ohm bridged. Yes you can hook them all up to that one amp.

To do this, simply hook up 2 subs to each channel, which will give you a 2 ohm load on the amp, which should give you about 600 watts per channel, 300 watts per sub. That amp will run all four nicely.

i was going to say the same thing.

good luck //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You mean 2 ohm stereo. There is no way to get a 2 ohm mono load on that amp with those subs. In mono he can either get a 16, 4, or 1 ohm load.

To get a 4 ohm mono load he needs to hook them up in a series/parallel configuration. Hook them up into 2 pairs in series creating 2 - 8 ohm loads and then combining those 2 to in parallel to get a 4 ohm mono load which is the same power output as a 2 ohm stereo only with subs you don't want it in stereo. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Yes, you want opition # 2 on that web page. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

no. thats not what i meant.

do TWO subs on EACH channel. or you can do the 4ohm mono. eaither way works. eaither way will get you about the same power.

id prolly choose mono //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

You said the subs are dual 4 ohm. Keep in mind that this means you have to wire them in series/parallel which will give you 4 ohms. Yes, the amp...

I recommend wiring to the 2 ohm load on the amp you stated you have, or you can wire to an 8 ohm load for amp stability. You can wire one sub to...
