4 re audio sx 18s or 8 alpine type r 12s..

How are them terribly inefficient poor mechanical dampening drivers holding up?I smoked 4 15 s with 2 9515s and half power. A daily driver btw..
doesnt mean anything.

your competitor couldve had poor 15s, low power, small box, poorly designed box, etc, so that means little. your half power coudlve been twice his whole power.

I don't even remember what he had..

I haven't competed in a while..

In fact I tried to get out of it but kept 2 rd 1750s and had to have a sub..

WrOng answer..

After I purschase my house and get this patient done I'm gonna get another street beater..

Thanks guys I been doing some looking around...and I gonna get 18s no matter what...how does the re sx 18s compare to the xcon 18s and the death penalty 18s...out of those three which ones would yall choose...I'm running 3 ho alts, 4 Stinger batteries and probably 2 Rockford fosgate power 2500.1 bds..I rather have too much power and keep the amp low then not enough

I'm gonna use the whole trunk section of my truck for the box..I will even consider a wall....I just can't take out my back seats I need them to haul my kids around..no they won't be getting played while the kids in the truck lol...

Your best bet may be to do a wall though you will definitely not get the full potential if it's so far back. Personally, if you are putting this much into a system you should be taking out the rear seats. Doing a build with 4 18's, and at the same time leaving everything accessible to haul around the kids doesn't really mix, you know what I mean?

not sure about that. for daily i'm not a fan of walls, for me it made the 40hz and below frequencies not as loud as when i just had a large box with now wall back there. it hit much higher on the meter at 47hz or so, but for a daily driver that's not what i wanted

I love my setup with 4 18's, still have 5 seats and a real daily beater. I highly recommend that direction

as for the xcons, they are much better than the sx woofers but also need more power. also, both those need rather large boxes, 6.5 cubes and up. Look at some t3 audio woofers, either the 1000 or the 2000 series would be very nice, would only need around 5 cubic feet per woofer.

In the back of a tahoe with the rear seats in, fitting 4 18's is going to be very difficult without having the box really tall. At that point it would pretty much just be better to do a wall, though it will be probably a waste of time since it's so far from the front.

U do know the Tahoe has 2 rows of seats not 3 like the new ones right?
You do realize the cargo area is still pretty small for 4-18's bottom line is the 15's are a much better route and I know for a fact you will be happy with them.
