4 JL 12w3v3's - 2k watts?

I have 4 JL 12w3v3-8 wired for a 2ohm load. I currently have a Hifonics Brutus 2008 that puts out 1300 RMS @ 2ohms. I believe that the subs are truly getting around 300w RMS each. They are in a ported enclosure, each with their own chamber.

My question is, could I get an amp that pushes out a true 2,000w @ 2ohm's (giving each sub 500) safely? I've read that they can handle 500, but I don't want to mess up my subs because I tried to do to much.

They are rated by the manufacturer for 500 rms per woofer. Generally speaking, the companies underrate their products to cover their own ***. I dont think you'll have a problem so long as you dont clip the signal or act stupid playing below tuning for extended periods of time.

can u recommend a nice amplifier that does 2,000w RMS @ 2ohms. I'm having trouble finding one. I'd like to stay between $300-400. If that's not possible then so be it.

2k for $400 is a pretty tall order. Especially at 2 ohms. Svc8's really limit your wiring options.

There's a kicker zx1500.1 on ebay that might stay in your price range, but probably no more than 1600w or so on a strong electrical system. JBL gto14001 will give you 1500+ at 2 ohms for

that's cool, I'm gonna just have to sell my 8ohms subs for some 4 ohms.

I would be carefully with feeding jl's power my experiences with them aren't the greatest.
