4 ga wire for 2000w RMS?

it will "work" in the sense that your amps will play...

however the wire will heat up much more than normal, and you'll more than likely blow fuses every time your amp draws close to full power

I would return it/sell it and get a 1/0 kit.

You can buy another 4 gauge kit, and get a 1/0 to 2 4guage distro and about 1-2ft. of 1/0 wire. Run the 2 runs of 4 gauge from the battery, hook it into the distro and then run the 1/0 from the distro to the amp.

on 2k haha no way...
I agree if the amp(s) will play full volume test tones all day.

I got my 1500wrms from my mono block and 280wrms from my 4 channel and I have 4 gauge RF wires and everythings been fine so far. I also have an 100 amp fuse.
See?

Foote - it will work, but it's a long way from right. You WILL have voltage drop when you try to blast it, that may or may not cause low voltage problems with your amp.

If your kit came with an 80A fuse it will probably blow relatively easily. If it's not 80A I wouldn't use anything larger than 125A.

Just plan for a solution soon. You don't want to try to run 2kw with 4 ga permanently.

would wat happen? And usually caps do not work so just save ur money on that. Buy a 1/0awg wiring kit and either sell the 4awg or use it for ur comp amp.
well i traded the 4 awg kit for a 1/0..well the trade is in progress. So that problem is solved I guess...
