4 Channel Speaker Amp Left side doesnt work

I have a Pioneer GM-X564 4 Channel Amp, it turns out that for some reason the front/rear LEFT side doesn't work. I can make it work by connecting the positive from the right to a negative on the left. The RCA connections are for Front and Rear and only the left side doesn't work from both.

I have 2 questions:

1. How would I go about fixing the left channels?

2. Is it possible to just hook up 2 speakers to each front/rear right channel and still use all my available power>? I am aware that I will lose my balance control.

Yes, you should be fine running it with just 2 channels because that amp is rated for 2 ohm loads. Like you said, you will either lose fading or balance depending on how you wire the speakers. Know that you are going to see a small increase in output due to the reduced ohm load. It will now see about 10W per channel more.
